Today we present you the interview that Solotrance
& Álvaro made to The
Thrillseekers, here in Spain we
are intented that trance
can be know for more people than now, in this difficult
way we have many friends that help us to make more
interesting this hard work, and one of these friends
are Álvaro,
today we present you with the colaboration of Álvaro
a interview to one of the best
trance productors in our opinion, he is Steve
Helstrip "The Thrillseekers",
we hope you like the interview, Thanks!!!

Interview to The Thrillseekers:
1-In Spain there is just a little and kinda minoritary
group of people
who knows Trance music, but luckily this genre is
starting to spread and
attract people. Could you tell me who is "The
Thrillseekers" for the people
who is getting started on Trance?
The Thrillseekers
is just me, Steve Helstrip.
I've been producing
electronic music as far back as I can remember and
more recently - last 6
years - trance.
2-Different pseudonyms cover different grounds
or interests?
Working under different names allows me to work with
other artistes. For
example, Andy
Perring and myself
produce under the name Insigma.
Another
collaboration is Rapid Eye,
with the label boss at ATCR,
Tim Stark. Some
of
my other guises have included Hydra
and En-Motion.
3-Why producing Trance? What is for you a nice
melody?
The music I produce tends to be quite emotional,
so it kind of fits the
trance genre. I think
a melody on its own isn't very interesting. It's only
when it's set against a moving chord pattern that
it comes to life. It's
often the very simple melodies which work the best.
4-Does people in your country talk about Spanish
Trance Scene? Have
you ever been over here? In case you have, what is
the thing you like the
most?
I've only spent time in Ibiza, which is obviously
a very popular destination
for us Brits! As for mainland Spain, then I've
heard it's a great place to
DJ and that the trance scene is very fresh.
5-You have announced you're going to set up a
new Label. Is it true?
What can you tell us about it?
This is indeed true. I've set up my own label, Adjusted,
to release all my
future productions. The first release, The
Thrillseekers NewLife, will be in
June and includes
a remix by Lange.
The second release will Synaesthesia
2004 with mixes from Ferry
Corsten, Pulser,
Mesh and myself.
The website is
www.adjustedmusic.com
6-What goes through your
mind when you remember "Synaesthesia"?
It was a great time for me, as the trance
scene was really taking off in the
UK. I thought I had a good tune on my hands,
but never expected the success
it received. My only regret is not going to Ibiza
in '99 to hear it first
hand in Amnesia.
7-Do you consider yourself more like a Producer
or like a DJ?
I still think of myself as a producer mainly (that's
what it says on my tax
return anyway). DJing came much later, though
the boundaries are becoming
less clear all the time.
8-Insigma... How has it been the experience of
producing together with
Andy Perring?
Andy and I
have been friends for years, so it's great
to produce music
together.
9-Iain Jennings makes the vocals... Tell us something
about this
artist.
Iain is an old
friend from music college. He doesn't write the vocals
though! We have written a track together, The
Thrillseekers 'Escape'.
Normally, he's the keyboard player for Mostly
Autumn, a UK prog rock band.
10-Big names remixing your productions...What
do you feel about this?
It's always really exciting when someone you respect
remixes your track. You
do, however, have this image in your mind of how it
will turn out, so you
have to be prepared to be disappointed at the same
time.
11-And, on the contrary, what do you feel when
you remix theirs?
It's great to be asked. The track is more important
to me than the artist,
though.
12-Classic questions: A tune that means everything
for you or that has
influenced you through the years. Do you have any
anecdote to tell us that
has happened in any of your gigs?
One of the classics for me is Chicane
'Offshore'. Still love this record and
it has influenced me greatly.
13-Could you tell us something about your new
projects?
Sure. I'm currently remixing Sweet
Sorrow from Ferry
Corsten's album. Next
up I'll be remixing the new Lange
single, while concentrating on my record
label, Adjusted.
14-And to finish this interview, what would you
say to the people who
visits Solotrance.com
or the people who loves Trance
in general?
Please continue to support the scene by buying the
music you love. Bye for
now!

Thanks to all people that loves Trance!!!
