we bring you an interview to one of the djs
and producers that we think he deserves that you know it a little better, we think he is a big producer, he don´t need
presentations only you have to make is to heard his productions,
he is Leon Bolier, a man that is not very well-known here in Spain. It is hour that you go him knowing for that is a big producer and a big guy. This month his production My Precious (Precursor Remix) is in the Top of our February Top 12 and
today we offer you the interview that Solotrance
made to him.
Interview to Leon Bolier for Solotrance:
1º This is a question we make all djs and
producers, define for spanish people in a few words

Leon Bolier
:
I'm a 25-year old producer from the Netherlands, and in love with electronic music since I was 12...
2º You had releases in Armada Music, Blackhole Recordings, Spinnin Records, Bonzai Music, Captured Music and FTM Records , what recording company was the first that release a work of you and which works was the first?
The first thing made by me that has been released was a remix for Libra – Calling your Name, that (Subsphere) remix was released on Captivating sounds. My first solo-release was Subsphere – Infinite/Sweet Fragrance on Green Martian, Bonzai.
3º You produce under some alias
(B&W, Subsphere , Mindsensation, Precursor ), Which is the difference (in a production)
between these alias?
Well, productions under my own name tend to be very melodic.. Subsphere productions are melodic aswell, but somewhat deeper. B&W is a projectname together with Bart van Wissen (Fictivision), I don't know if there will be a follow up for Mistaken. Mindsensation is a project I used some years ago for trancy productions, and Precursor is my more techy moniker. Tho in the future there will be more ‘housy' productions under the Precursor alias. Besides I have a projectname called ‘LB' which is an alias for fucked up progressive techhouse and progressive trance.
4º In the years you are producing you had
made a house or techno (or other style) song? What
do you think about other styles how house, techno
or progressive house?
As I said, for the Precursor alias I producer more techy orientated tunes, and in the future with some house influences. I like almost all electronic music, so I try to produce it all aswell!
5º What hardware and software use you for
to produce?
I'm using Steinberg Nuendo, with lots of VST plugins. No hardware involved, except my MIDI keyboard and monitor speakers.
6º How time you need for produce a theme

My Precious, Pulsar or Passionate? What do you think (the
sun, the beach...) for to compose this great songs?
Mmm I don't think that much then, it's just playing around with my keyboard, make up chord progressions and add a melodic layer to it..
7º What is your trance theme favorite?
I don't know exactly. One of the tracks that hooked me back then however was Energy 52 – Café del Mar.
8º And your favourite production?
The favourite production I made? I think that's gotta be Back in the Days.
9º in which countries you will play this year (or in the next months), any date in Spain?
I'm not sure yet, tho there are rumours I will be performing at a big event in Poland in June. I would like to come to Spain anyway, but that's up to the promoters!
10º New projects or new releases in the future? (can you tell us something about)?
My next release will be: Leon Bolier pres. Surpresa – Back in the Days / Flower Fountain, on ASOT/Armada. Thereafter more stuff coming up, like: Menno de Jong & Leon Bolier pres. Solar Express – Magma on Galactive/Fundamental, and the next Precursor will be called ‘the Navigator', a Tech-House-Trance stormer with Electro influences :-)

I'm not that good in self promotion, let the music speak for itself! Anyway, if you know my productions, you know what to expect in a liveset by me: I'm not totally bound to one style, so little surprises can be expected...
12º At last for people of Spain that wants to know a few more Leon Bolier:
Favourite colour: I like fresh colours, like fresh green or red.
Animal: No particular animal.
Country: Besides the Netherlands: Portugal. My most relaxed vacation was in the Algarve. I have never been to Spain...
